National Osteoporosis Foundation

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

The National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF), the nation’s leading voluntary health organization solely dedicated to osteoporosis and bone health, headquartered in downtown Washington, DC, with 20 FTE staff and a $4.7M budget, has an immediate opening for a highly qualified, experienced Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer. The successful candidate will be accountable for and supervise operations in: administration, finance, development, membership, communications, marketing, education and outreach, meetings, publications, advocacy/government relations and partnerships. Qualifications: College degree and appropriate management, leadership and supervisory experience required as CEO or as senior staff of a foundation, professional society, association, or equivalent organization of similar staff and budget size.

Some skills/qualities NOF is looking for: transitional leader; motivated and passionate; flexible; effective project manager; excellent spokesperson with strong communication/training skills; experienced in personnel, administration and finance fundamentals; knowledge of standard business practices, Internet, I/T operations and social media applications; demonstrated good judgment and team leader/player; relationship builder; plus proven track record in nonprofit or other type of fundraising/development or nondues revenue operations.

Position reports to the Board of Trustees through the Executive Committee and the Board Chairman. Salary based on experience with overall compensation in the range of similar budget and staff sizes at a national foundation/association headquartered in Washington D.C.
