Osteoporosis Foundation’s
13th
Annual Gala Awards Dinner Dance
 The National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) hosted its 13th Annual Silhouette Ball in New York City on May 16, 2008. Lesley Stahl served as mistress of ceremonies as NOF celebrated its commitment to preventing osteoporosis and promoting bone health, in an effort to ensure that every silhouette stands tall. NOF welcomed nearly 400 guests to the fundraising dinner including sponsors, board members, volunteers and advocates for the disease, as they raised awareness of bone health and recognized the commitment of several leaders in the field. These distinguished honorees include:
 U.S. Representative Michael C. Burgess, M.D., presented with the Paul G. Rogers Leadership Award for advancing osteoporosis as a critical health issue.
Libby Pataki, given the Ethel LeFrak Award for her leadership and commitment to women’s health.
Grace Palmer, winner of the first-ever Strong Women Stand Tall essay contest, created by NOF and Woman’s Day magazine.
Wyeth Pharmaceuticals Corporation, a long-standing partner of NOF, presented with the Corporate Leadership Award. |
In addition to the awards presentations, the evening’s highlights included participation by James Lipton, of Inside the Actors Studio, astronaut Buzz Aldrin, and entertainment by the comical and talented group, The Three Waiters.
