Conversations about Bone Health Highlighted at the September 2012 Fundraising Event

For nearly 30 years, NOF has been committed to preventing osteoporosis and broken bones and promoting strong bones for life. Yet in the U.S. today, one in two women and up to one in four men will suffer an osteoporosis-related fracture.

With the growing success of our annual A Gift from Mothers to Daughters luncheon, in 2011 we launched the Generations of Strength Campaign. This awareness and fundraising initiative calls on women and men to start conversations about bone health and family health history in order to elevate osteoporosis to an issue of national concern and raise funds to help NOF reach our goals of better treating and ultimately preventing osteoporosis.

NOF and Generations of Strength Campaign leadership were represented at the 5th Annual event, including National Honorary Committee Chairwoman and best-selling author, Gail Sheehy and National Host Committee Chairwoman, Sharon Marantz Walsh. Special guest and past luncheon honoree, Dr. Max Gomez, also helped to welcome our 2012 honorees:
