National Osteoporosis Foundation Announces Collaboration with WebMD

WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 18, 2010) — The National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) announces its participation in the Osteoporosis Exchange on WebMD. The Exchange is featured in the new WebMD Health Exchange, a health social networking platform that provides a unique way for consumers to get health and wellness support from the world’s largest community of online health-informed consumers. The WebMD Health Exchange was developed to engage consumers on a variety of health and wellness topics, including osteoporosis. It gives consumers the ability to connect with world-class health experts and other WebMD members to exchange real experiences, discuss personal challenges and receive direct answers and support.

The WebMD Health Exchange will connect consumers with the knowledge and credibility of leading professionals from renowned health and medical organizations and patient advocacy groups. The WebMD Osteoporosis Exchange will give NOF a presence on WebMD, the leading online source of health information for consumers and healthcare professionals. More than 60 million consumers visit the WebMD Health Network each month. The WebMD Osteoporosis Exchange will feature NOF affiliated healthcare professionals engaging in discussions, answering questions and sharing accurate evidence-based information about osteoporosis and bone health with community members.

"We are thrilled with the launch of the WebMD Osteoporosis Exchange featuring experts from NOF," stated Amy Porter, NOF Executive Director and CEO. "The ability to give NOF affiliated healthcare professionals the opportunity to elevate conversations about bone health to the next level is critical to our mission of promoting lifelong bone health and improving the lives of those affected by osteoporosis."

WebMD Health Exchange is now available on WebMD.com.
