May 17, 2007 -- Actress Sally Field Shares Personal Story About Living with Osteoporosis at Capitol Hill Briefing

Academy Award winning actress Sally Field spoke at a Capitol Hill briefing on May 17, 2007 in Washington, DC addressing osteoporosis and bone health. She encouraged women to protect themselves against fractures so they can remain active and reduce their risk of a debilitating injury. 

The briefing, " Healthy Bones; Healthy Life ", was held by the National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) and the Society for Women's Health Research.

Ethel Siris, M.D., president of NOF, (L), spoke about protecting and strengthening bones at all ages and reminded the audience that osteoporosis remains a major public health issue for more than half of all women and a quarter of all men over 50 in the U.S. She is joined by Laura Tosi, M.D., (center), director of the Bone Health Program at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC, who spoke about the progress and goals of bone health research; and Sally Field, (R), actress and osteoporosis patient and advocate.
