The discussion touched on the importance of exercise in building and maintaining peak bone mass. Dr. McCormick, of Amherst, Massachusetts, a former Olympian and Ironman competitor, was diagnosed with osteoporosis in 2000. He competed for the second time in the Ford Ironman Triathlon World Championships on October 15, 2005.
