The Exchange is featured in the new WebMD Health Exchange, a health social networking platform that provides a unique way for consumers to get health and wellness support from the world’s largest community of online health-informed consumers. The WebMD Health Exchange was developed to engage consumers on a variety of health and wellness topics, including osteoporosis.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 2, 2010) — The National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) mourns the passing of Gregory R. Mundy, MD, long time member of the NOF Board of Trustees. At the time of his death, Dr. Mundy was Professor of Medicine, Pharmacology, Orthopaedics and Cancer Biology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was also John A. Oates Chair in Translational Medicine and Director of the Vanderbilt Center in Bone.

Ms. Porter joins NOF with more than twenty years experience in the nonprofit sector. Porter's most recent position was as Executive Director of the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health. She has played key roles in executive, communications and development positions, working to further the missions of many forward thinking and visible institutions in the D.C. area.

National Osteoporosis Foundation and International Society For Clinical Densitometry Work To Help Ensure Appropriate Use Of Fracture Risk Assessment Tool

(Washington, DC) – The National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) and the International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) have announced that FRAX® software is being made available to DXA providers to allow for a FRAX® calculation, if appropriate, at the time of a DXA test in untreated postmenopausal women and older men with low bone mass.
