Prof. Delmas was an internationally recognized expert in the areas of osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease. Dr. Delmas served as founding president of the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF), for which he initiated numerous global educational, clinical and research programs on osteoporosis.

Washington, DC (June 11, 2008) – The U.S. House of Representatives voted to pass the “Mother’s Day Centennial Commemorative Coin Act” (HR 2268), which, if passed by the Senate and signed into law by the President, authorizes the U.S. Mint to produce a commemorative coin in 2014 in honor of the centennial of the holiday Mother’s Day. Each coin will carry a $10.00 surcharge that would be divided evenly between the National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure to further their research grant programs.
