The National Osteoporosis Foundation
has launched new online outreach
software
July 13, 2007 (Washington,
DC) – NOF has introduced Convio, online outreach
software, to its Web site to enhance and strengthen existing online programs.
It will also
provide opportunities for new
promotions and communications with
members and constituents. Web visitors
and donors can set up Tribute funds
where they can create personalized Web
sites for fundraising in honor or memory
of a loved one or friend. These Tribute
funds have the tools to help
donors raise money, generate awareness
and recruit others on an ongoing basis.
NOF will also use Convio to
manage its online advocacy work, such as
drafting action alerts that advocates
can customize and then send, via email,
fax or mail, to their legislators.
Convio has the technology to identify
specific
lawmakers and officials within an
advocacy database. Anyone can join
NOF's Bone Health Advocacy Network where
they can receive email updates of
upcoming action alerts. NOF is now
able to show individuals how their
legislators' votes align with NOF's
goals.
NOF recently
launched its new program, Steps For Strong
Bones™, a walking challenge, so participants can
now customize
personal fundraising pages and log their
steps online. For the Steps For
Strong Bones™ program, participants
taking this walking challenge will be
able to share their personal story, post
a picture, invite friends and family to
support them with a donation to NOF,
track their fundraising dollars, and
update their supporters on their walking
status through their personal page and
their own web blog.
NOF site visitors can now
also
register on the NOF Web site,
www.nof.org,
where they can sign up for email updates
on categories such as support groups and
Professional Education.
"NOF is pleased to
introduce this software for those
individuals visiting the Web site," said
Leo Schargorodski, Executive Director of
NOF. "It helps NOF
to better serve its members
and donors by providing them with increased opportunities
to support the organization."
