The National Osteoporosis Foundation
has launched a Spanish- language section
of its Web site

(Washington, DC) – The National
Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF), has
launched a Spanish language section of
its Web site. In order to better
meet the needs of the growing Latino
population in the United States, NOF now offers Spanish
content about osteoporosis on its Web
site under the heading "Sobre Osteoporosis"
(About Osteoporosis). The organization
plans to continually
add educational content for the Latino population.
Highlights of this new
section include
patient-focused topics such as:
Providing
accurate a information on osteoporosis
and bone health for
Spanish-speaking audiences is more
important than ever. Ten percent of Hispanic
women aged 50 and older are estimated to
have osteoporosis, and 49 percent are
estimated to have low bone mass.
