The aim of this initiative is to provide long-term continuing education through a network of activities provided over time to encourage clinician practice change.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 22, 2010) — The National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) applauds the United States Congress for the passage of Health Care Reform legislation that includes some relief from the Medicare cuts to Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA), the imaging procedure accepted as the gold standard for preventing, diagnosing and treating osteoporosis. The House passed HR 3590, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (which was passed by the Senate in December 2009) and it is expected that President Obama will sign the bill shortly.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 2, 2010) — The National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) mourns the passing of Gregory R. Mundy, MD, long time member of the NOF Board of Trustees. At the time of his death, Dr. Mundy was Professor of Medicine, Pharmacology, Orthopaedics and Cancer Biology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was also John A. Oates Chair in Translational Medicine and Director of the Vanderbilt Center in Bone.

She has played key roles in executive, communications and development positions, working to further the missions of many forward thinking and visible institutions in the D.C. area.
