Clinical Osteoporosis 2010: An ISCD-NOF Symposium

Clinicians and technologists interested in cutting edge, evidence-based information on osteoporosis and bone health now have one must-attend professional development opportunity. Clinical Osteoporosis 2010 combines the vision and expertise of the two leading osteoporosis and bone health organizations into one meeting. This premier event exposes attendees to a comprehensive program on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis.

Clinical Osteoporosis 2010: An ISCD-NOF Symposium has been planned and implemented in accordance with the essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). The National Osteoporosis Foundation designates this educational activity for a maximum of 24.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Osteoporosis Clinical Updates

Osteoporosis Clinical Updates online series offers valuable information used to improve patient care related to osteoporosis prevention, diagnosis and treatment by providing clinicians with state-of-the-art information and pragmatic strategies that they may apply in clinical practice.

Needs Assessment
Osteoporosis is a major public health threat for an estimated 44 million Americans, or 55 percent of the people 50 years of age and older. In the U.S. today, 10 million individuals are estimated to already have the disease and almost 34 million more are estimated to have low bone mass, placing them at increased risk for osteoporosis.

Intended Audience
This continuing education activity is designed for healthcare professionals with an interest in osteoporosis and bone health across the lifespan, including those working in family practice, endocrinology, rheumatology, obstetrics/gynecology, radiology, physical and occupational therapy, public health and research. These include physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, dietitians, radiology technologists, physical therapists, and occupational therapists.

The Osteoporosis Clinical Updates Editorial Board is comprised of medical specialists, nonspecialists, and a variety of other healthcare professionals involved in research in and management of osteoporosis.

Each issue of Osteoporosis Clinical Updates is available for 1.0 continuing education contact hours for physicians. Participants will be able to read the content, register, and complete the self-assessment information to acquire their credit. A $10 processing fee will be applied. Please follow the instructions carefully in order to receive your certificate of completion. Other healthcare providers will also be able to receive a certificate of completion; nurse practitioners and physician assistants may request an AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ certificate.
