This CNE activity was approved by the Virginia Nurses Association Continuing Education Approval Committee for 8.0 CNE credit hours, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Education Approval Committee, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
This activity has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 6.0 Prescribed and 5.25 Elective credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Of these credits, 3.0 conform to the AAFP criteria for evidence-based CME clinical content. CME credit has been increased to reflect 2 for 1 credit for the EB CME portion. When reporting AAFP credit, report total Prescribed and Elective credit for this activity. It is not necessary to label credit as evidence-based CME for reporting purposes.
The EB CME credit awarded for this activity was based on practice recommendations that were the most current with the strongest level of evidence available at the time this activity was approved. Since clinical research is ongoing, AAFP recommends that learners verify sources and review these and other recommendations prior to implementation into practice.

Requirements for receiving continuing education credit

- Onsite completion of sign-in/attendance sheet
- A minimum of six hours of attendance at the event
- Onsite completion and return of activity evaluation
Physicians, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners: Continuing education certificates will be distributed onsite. Attendees seeking continuing education credit must pick up their certificates before leaving the activity. Certificates will not be mailed.
Pharmacists: Continuing education certificates will be mailed to you within 3 weeks of the activity.
