#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that takes place annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.

There are a several ways to get involved!

Osteoporosis is known as the silent disease because it is usually undetected. Did you know that approximately 10 million Americans have been diagnosed with osteoporosis and about another 44 million people have low bone mass, putting them at an increased risk of fracture?Ā

Our vision is to end fractures caused by osteoporosis. Your donation supports educating people about bone health throughout their lifespan, expands resources and reach, and empowers people with osteoporosis to live longer, fracture-free lives.

Ask 5 friends to donate as well. Why?

Osteoporosis affects millions of people in the United States and worldwide. It is often called a silent disease because one canā€™t feel bones weakening. Breaking a bone is often the first sign of osteoporosis. Here are five fast facts you should know ā€“ all good reasons to help support those who may be affected by, or at risk for developing, this potentially debilitating disease.

  1.   Women begin to lose bone dramatically at menopause. In fact, women can lose up to 20% of bone mass in the first 5-7 years post-menopause.
  2.   One in four men will break a bone due to osteoporosis in their lifetime.
  3.   A healthy diet and regular exercise (weight-bearing and muscle-strengthening) are essential for bone growth and maintenance, but they alone cannot ā€œcureā€ osteoporosis.
  4.   Peak Bone Mass is reached by your early-to-mid 20s in most people. Children and adolescents who reach peak bone mass reduce their risk of developing osteoporosis later in life.
  5.   Osteoporosis can cause broken bones, loss of mobility, loss of independence, and sometimes death.

Hello Colleagues, Family and Friends,

This year for #GivingTuesday, Iā€™m raising money for the Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation (BHOF). Iā€™m supporting BHOF on November 28th to raise awareness and support those living with osteoporosis or low bone density.

Please consider supporting my campaign which ends November 28th by clicking on this link to our donation page. By giving $10, or any amount you choose, you can help us reach our goal of $10k and make a huge difference for someone living with this debilitating disease.

BHOF (formerly NOF) is the leading health organization dedicated to preventing osteoporosis and broken bones, promoting strong bones for life and reducing human suffering through programs of public and clinician awareness, education, advocacy and research. Established in 1984, BHOF is the nationā€™s only health organization solely dedicated to osteoporosis and bone health.

Large or small, every amount helps! If youā€™re unable to donate at this time, Iā€™d really appreciate it if youā€™d share information about our efforts on social media or forward this email to people in your network.

Thank you so much!

Best,
